Originally acquired as the Savoy Group of hotels in a transaction structured by Avestus principals, which included the highly prestigious Berkeley, Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Savoy, the Savoy Group was renamed the Maybourne Hotel Group, following the sale of the Savoy Hotel in January 2005.  The Avestus management role ceased in 2009
