Tallaght Shopping Centre
Tallaght Shopping Centre was one of the first suburban multi-storey shopping centres to be developed in Ireland. The area is one of the most densely populated suburbs in Ireland and at the time of construction in the 1990’s was experiencing a significant residential boom. In addition, the investment attracted government tax incentives enabling investors to recover the majority of their investment with capital allowances being offset against income tax. Control of the centre was achieved during the 1990’s via a series of investment partnerships, and the asset was successfully exited in 2007 in order to take advantage of record prices which were being achieved in the Dublin retail market at the time.
